At this BASC meeting, Vivian Terry, BASC Secretary, introduced the topic of the Level of Traffic Stress (LTS) for bicycling. Just like any vehicle on the road, bicyclists experience low to high stress when navigating on the road by bike. She introduces the LTS classifications (LTS 1-4) and how they could correlate to ridership, and gives examples (with video) of the how Bike Route 50 (or Old Madison Pike) in Huntsville should be considered a LTS 4, the highest stress level for bicyclists.
